Abstract

ABSTRACT This study uses problem focused coping wich is a form of coping that focuses on the problem directly and produces action to get out of the problem at hand. This study aims to determine the problem focused coping abilities of the student of the 2019 Guidance and Counseling Study Program the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sriwijaya University. This type is survey research with quatitative descriptive method. The data were collected using a psychological Likert scale model. All population members were chosen as subject of research. Data were analyzed using the percentage formula (%). The results of data analysis showed that the problem focused coping abilities of the 2019 guidance and counseling students (20%) were in the very good category, (9%) were in the good category, (38%) were in the quite good category (15%) were in the not good category and (19%) were in the very unkind category. As a result, it can be seen that most of the Guidance and Counseling student of the 2019 of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sriwijaya University have problem focused coping abilities in quite good categories.
