Abstract

Good air quality is needed at this time, air is one of the gas groups which is also the main source of respiration of living things. When a person moves from one place to another, that person will face different air conditions. Humans who are in one place sometimes cannot detect the presence of harmful gases that interfere with health or safety, because not all of these gases can be smelled by the sense of smell. The purpose of this study is to design a tool that can monitor air quality in a place using the MQ-135 sensor. The MQ-135 sensor is a gas sensor that has a relatively high sensitivity to ammonia gas, benzene, alcohol, CO2, smoke and other gases. The test results will be displayed on a 16x2 LCD screen and monitoring can be carried out remotely using the "blynk" application on a smartphone. Based on the results of the tests carried out, it is known that this tool could work well to detect air quality in the Fasilkom hall, when testing was carried out in the Fasilkom hall, the air was safe with 25.19 ppm, but after being brought close to the gas electric lighter the sensor reading value showed ppm 707.93 which appeared on the LCD and blynk and there was a notification on the smartphone indicating that the air was in a dangerous state.
