Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of price and availability of ship space on purchasing decisions for container ship agency services at PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia Palembang branch. The population in this study are all consumers who purchase or use container ship agency services at PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia Palembang branch in 2022 as many as 74 companies. So the sample in this study was 100 respondents with several sampling criteria. The results of the multiple linear analysis show that the price and availability of ship space have a positive and significant effect on the decision to purchase container ship agency services at PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia Palembang branch. Prices at the Palembang branch of PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia can review prices so they can be more competitive and more affordable for consumers while maintaining service quality. Availability of ship space, PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia Palembang branch can review the availability of ship space by replacing it with a type of ship that has a larger DWT, has more container transport capabilities but has a type of ship that can operate in river and sea waters, where the ship has a keel section ships designed to be able to sail in shallow water areas (shallow water). PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia must create the best service for consumers and make policies to increase purchasing decisions by customers.
