Abstract

The cracker making business is included in a home industry that helps the economy a lot both for the family and the village itself. This makes the people of Banyuasin Regency develop many home industries by utilizing the potential of natural resources around them, one of which is shrimp. This study aims to determine income, sustainability status and development strategies to encourage the sustainability of shrimp cracker business in Sungsang I and Sungsang II Villages. The results of the study showed that the R-C ratio of shrimp cracker business in Sungsang I and Sungsang II Village was 1.89, so that the shrimp cracker business is efficient (R-C ratio > 1) and worthy of development. The results of analysis the sustainability index shrimp cracker business in Sungsang I and Sungsang II villages amounted to 32.33 and were considered less sustainable. Development strategies to encourage the sustainability of shrimp cracker business in Sungsang I and Sungsang II villages were prepared using SWOT analysis, based on the analysis that has been done, the strategy used is a turn around strategy, where entrepreneurs minimize weaknesses and take advantage of existing opportunities. After a strategy analysis, several programs were obtained to encourage business sustainability, including conducting market analysis, technology implementation, information technology implementation, and providing training and coaching.
