Abstract

DINI FEBRIANTI, Anti-Obesity Efectiveness Water Lettuce (Pistia Stratiotes) Plant Extract In Obesity Rat (Supervisor: SABRI SUDIRMAN) This study aims to determine the effect of water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) plant extract on body weight, fat tissue, cholesterol and triglycerides in obese rats. This research was conducted in laboratory experiment. This research will be carried out in laboratory experiments using 5 levels of treatment and 4 repetitions of treatment with different concentrations water lettuce plant extract (100 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The research parameters used were body weight, he tissue staining, total cholesterol, and total triglycerides. The results of the body weight test showed that in group G2 there was a decrease in rat body weight by 51.66%, and in group G3 there was a decrease in rat body weight by 55.66%%. The triglyceride test results showed that the normal weight group produced the lowest average, which was 53.14. The level of water lettuce extract at 100 mg/kg body weight proved to be the most effective in reducing triglyceride levels. The results of the cholesterol test showed that the normal weight group produced the lowest average, which was 41.23. The level of water lettuce extract at 400 mg/kg body weight proved to be the most effective in reducing cholesterol levels. The results of tissue staining tests in groups G3 and G4 show the size of adipose tissue that is smaller in size than other groups, this is because in groups G3 and G4 the administration of water lettuce plant extracts is carried out, which water lettuce plants contain polyphenolic compounds that can reduce body weight. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the dose of water lettuce plant extract 400 mg / kg was the most effective in reducing body weight in obese rats. Keywords: water lettuce extract, rat, anti-obesity, triglycerides, cholesterolDINI FEBRIANTI, Efektifitas Antiobesitas Ekstrak Tumbuhan Apu-Apu (Pistia Strationtes) Pada Tikus Obesitas (Pembimbing SABRI SUDIRMAN) Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan pengaruh dari ekstrak tumbuhan apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) terhadap berat badan, jaringan lemak, kolesterol dan trigliserida pada tikus obesitas. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan secara eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan 5 taraf perlakuan dan 3 kali pengulangan perlakuan dengan perbedaan konsetrasi ekstrak tumbuhan apu-apu (100 mg/kg dan 400 mg/kg ). Masing-masing perlakuan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Parameter penelitian yang digunakan yaitu berat badan, pewarnaan jaringan Adiposa , total kolestrol dan total trigliserida. Hasil uji berat badan menunjukkan bahwa pada kelompok G3 terjadi penurunan berat badan tikus sebesar 25 gram dan pada kelompok G4 terjadi penurunan berat badan tikus sebesar 30.33 gram. Hasil uji trigliserida menunjukan bahwa bahwa kelompok normal berat badan menghasilkan rata-rata yang paling rendah, yaitu 53.14. Kadar ekstrak apu-apu sebesar 100 mg/kg berat badan terbukti paling efektif dalam menurunkan kadar trigliserida. Hasil uji kolestrol menunjukkan bahwa kelompok normal berat badan menghasilkan rata-rata yang paling rendah, yaitu 41.23. Kadar ekstrak apu-apu sebesar 400 mg/kg berat badan terbukti paling efektif dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol. Hasil uji pewarnaan jaringan Pada kelompok G3 dan G4 menunjukan ukuran jaringan adiposa yang ukurannya lebih kecil di bandingkan kelompok lainnya hal ini karna tumbuhan apu-apu ini mengadung senyawa polifenol yang dapat menurunkan berat badan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa dosis ektrak tumbuhan apu-apu 400 mg/kg adalah paling efektif menurunkan berat badan pada tikus obesitas.
