Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of the kumon learning model on student learning activities in economic subjects at SMA Negeri 14 Palembang. This research is an experimental study using a Quasi Experimental Design research design in the form of Non Equivalent Control Design. The population in this study were all XI IPS classes of SMA Negeri 14 Palembang in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. Cluster Random Sampling sampling technique is by drawing in order to obtain the experimental class (XI IIS 3) and the control class class (XI IIS 2). Data collection techniques namely observation and interviews. The hypothesis uses parametric statistics, namely Pearson product moment correlation obtained by 0.97, which is very strong, the magnitude of the effect of variable X on variable Y with the determinant coefficient formula of 94.09% and the results of the acquisition of t test (polled variant), namely tcount (1.147)> ttable (1,116) means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the kumon learning model on the learning activities of students in economic subjects at 14 Palembang High School. It is recommended that schools can apply the kumon learning model which can be used as an alternative to assist students in increasing learning activities. As well as planning the time needed in each of the stages of applying the kumon learning model to run according to the syntax of the learning model.
