Abstract
The objectives of this research are (1) to evaluate personal selling activity to ascend selling volume for reached selling target that PT. Astra International, Tbk - TSO Auto 2000 branch Palembang Veteran wants. (2) To analyze personal selling performance as a study object and looking for right solution according to salesman activity of product marketing in the firm. Research finding that during period of years 2002 - 2006, selling target is unfulfilled. It shown from selling volume was not fulfilled the firm selling target during that years period. Because amount of personal selling / salesman does not match with firm selling target that every years always ascend. Besides that, lack of product knowledge and salesman motivation also impact to selling succeed. Therefore, to ascend selling volume of PT. Astra International, Tbk - TSO Auto 2000 branch Palembang Veteran, management of the firm must to increase amount of personal selling / salesman in order to balance with firm selling target so that selling volume can be reached. The firm also have to optimize personal selling / salesman performance with giving them knowledge and special periodical training that they need.
