Abstract

A promotion is when an employee moves to another job with greater responsibility, position and income than before. This study describes the decision support system (SPK) for employee promotions. By taking a case study at PT. Semen Baturaja, where in the process of selecting promotions, employees do not have access to data transparency, theprocess managementin selecting employees to be promoted is carried out by collecting the name form to be selected manually, the evaluation process can be carried out using only one criterion such as class. To overcome this problem, a decision support system for employee promotions was made using the weighted product method. There are 9 criteria used, namely trustworthy, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive, collaborative, productivity, absenteeism, interviews. The weighted product (WP) method is more effective in its implementation because the calculations take less time. This research resulted in the application of the DSS for the promotion of employees using thecalculation method weighted product. The system can help evaluate employee promotions more objectively and can assist in data transparency. The system can be developed by increasing or using new criteria into the system in accordance with the criteria used in the assessment and other things can be developed such as giving bonuses to employees.
