Abstract
Covid-19 is a virus that since 2020 has been designated a world pandemic by the WHO, this virus causes respiratory tract infections. Patients infected with the Covid-19 virus and getting symptoms indicate that there has been a decrease in the body's immune system so that patients suffering from Covid-19 infection are also susceptible to secondary infections such as infection with extended spectrum -lactamase (ESBL) producing Escherichia coli. This study aims to determine the number of Covid-19 patients infected with bacteria ESBL-producing E.coli treated at Dr. RSUP. Mohammad Hoesin for the period March 2020 to September 2021 and the characteristics of the patients based on the treatment room. This study is a descriptive study with a sample of all Covid-19 patients infected with ESBL produce Escherichia coli. The data obtained will be analyzed using the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) program and the results will be presented in the form of tables and descriptive narratives. In this study, a sample of 42 people was obtained, with the distribution of the most patients being treated in the non-intensive care room, amounting to 36 (85.7%) people while the patients being treated in the intensive care room were 6 (14.3%) people.
