Abstract

Transportation necessity to serve the movement of society who are from their origin to their each destination toward is crucial to the development of social-economy an area. Therefore, an analysis of mode choice is needed to supply the transportation needs of the surrounding area. In this study, it was focused on along area of the Musi river in Palembang to see how much interest the users of river transportation modes compared to the city or bus transportation modes. The data processing method in this study uses binary logit regression with dependent variables, namely boat and Transmusi bus and independent variables, namely personal characteristics data, social characteristics data, and trip characteristics data. Based on the results of data with the help of SPSS version 22, a logit model equation was obtained with a chi-square value of 0,771. The factors that influence the modes choice of transportation of people living around Musi river are the type of work, mode after from bus, travel time of the boat, and travel time after from the boat. The equations model of ketek boat modes that are formed from the results of data processing are Exp 10,881 + 0,686JP - 2,390MSB + 1,528WTK - 1,146WTSK) / 1+Exp(10,881 + 0,686JP - 2,390MSB + 1,528WTK - 1,146WTSK), while for the equation model of the Transmusi bus is 1-P(boat)
