Abstract
LUSI INDRIANI. The Use of Combination Cassava Tubers Meal and Indigofera zollingeriana as an Energy Source In Ration To Performance of Quail (Coturnix coturnix Japonica) (Supervised by RIZKI PALUPI) The study was to determine the performance of quails with the use of a combination of cassava tuber flour and Indigofera zollingeriana as an energy sources in rations. This research was carried out at the Poultry Experimental Cage Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Experimental study was Complete Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments and 5 test using KSI (a combination of cassava tuber flour and Indigofera zollingeriana leaves) as a substitute for corn with treatments (P1=10%, P2=20%, P3=30%, and P4=40%). The observed variables were ration consumption, weight gain, ration conversion and income over feed cost. Data were analyzed with ANOVA and Duncan test. The results of this study showed that the combination of cassava tuber flour and Indigofera leaf flour in the ration had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain and ration conversion but did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on ration consumption from quails.The conclusion of this study is that the combination of cassava tuber flour and Indigofera leaf meal at the level of 20% can be used as an energy source to replace corn without adversely affecting ration consumption, weight gain and ration conversion in quails.
