Abstract

Procrastination behavior is a procrastinating activity that is often carried out by students.Usually students who do academic procrastination will affect the performance of their learning achievements. This research is motivated by differences from the results of previous studies regarding the relationship between academic procrastination and academic achievement. The purpose of this study was tosee whether there is a relationship between academicprocrastination on the learning achievement of Economics Education students at Sriwijaya University and to find out the factors that influence academic procrastination. This research is a quantitative type of correlative research. The sample used in this research was 154 active students at Sriwijaya University, class of 2020-2022, who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Student academic procrastination data was obtained from a questionnaire consisting of 34 valid and reliable statements. While learning achievement data obtained by documentation techniques. Data were analyzed descriptively which was then followed by hypothesis testing using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results of the hypothesis test show that the value of r count =-0.01412 <r table with a value of r table = 0.1574 so that Ho is accepted. Therefore it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between academic procrastination on the learning achievement of Economics Education students at Sriwijaya University. Students are expected to always carry out positive activities to fill their free time and not provide room for procrastination behavior which will later become a habit that affects learning achievement.
