Abstract

Utilization of solar energy is a form of developing renewable energy sources in various applications such as the need for electricity or water heaters that utilize solar thermal energy sources. Solar water heater converters or more commonly known as solar water heaters utilize solar energy collectors which function to absorb solar light and also absorb heat from sunlight. Collector Water Heater is one tool that absorbs or collects heat from solar radiation which functions to heat water, the main source of energy for solar collectors is sunlight. The development of solar energy utilization continues to be developed with several technologies including the technology of Evacuated tube collector technology designed to produce higher heat energy compared to other types of collectors. In this study the authors are interested in making solar collectors by utilizing fluorescent lamp glass as a tube that captures sunlight so that the heat is trapped. Glass fluorescent lamp shaped as a cover that is used as a cover of the receiver pipe aims to reduce the heat loss of the receiver pipe to the outside air directly, called glass tube. The receiver pipe will experience a decrease in temperature to the equilibrium point of heat with the temperature of the outside environment. Solar water heater tube collector type is a water heater collector that has the form of a glass sheath or tube glass collector that has a receiver pipe in it. The testing of this water heater has two variations of series and parallel collector circuits. The objective is to find out the temperature value that can be obtained from the two variations of the device to the collector efficiency, so that the effect of installing series and parallel circuit collector can be known. The efficiency of a solar collector is a comparison of heat energy absorbed by water by the amount of solar radiation energy absorbed by the collector. The amount of heat absorbed by the collector is influenced by the high and low intensity of the sun and the efficiency produced on both variations is influenced by the amount of heat absorbed by water. The method used is an experimental method by making a test device, retrieving data and then making it in the form of a table or graph with analysis and calculations to get a research conclusion. Before designing a solar water heater, a schematic test device was needed to assist in the process of making a water heater with a tube collector type solar collector system by knowing the working principle of the device to work properly. The testing of series and parallel circuit water heaters was carried out for 5 hours of data collection with 10 minutes interval at 10.00-15.00 WIB then the data data from the test results obtained were analyzed by influencing the intensity of the sun on heat, the effect of solar intensity on efficiency the collector, the efficiency of the solar collector for a variety of series and parallel collector circuits. Based on the data analysis that has been done, it shows that the efficiency of the parallel parallel collector is better, namely 16.9196% and series 16.4846%. The water temperature released by the parallel circuit collector is 56.5 °C and series 56 °C with the average heating value received by the parallel circuit collector 50.3975 W and the average heat received by the series collector is 45.9244 W in the tests carried out during 5 hours with average solar intensity> 700 W / m2.
