Abstract

Currently, globalization continues to expand to all countries in the world, including Indonesia. Globalization is marked by various advances in the field of life, one example is social style. This study aims to prove the Effect of Hedonic Lifestyle on consumptive behavior in Students of the Economic Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University. The population and sample in this study were economic education students in the 2019 dan 2020 academic year. The sampling technique used Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. To find out the influence of a hedonic lifestyle on consumptive behavior, a pearson product moment correlation hypothesis test was which obtained 0.497 with a significant correlation of variable X affecting Y which means it is quite strong, using the determination coefficient obtained 24.7%, and the t test obtained tcount (5.75) > ttable (1.984) means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus there is an Effect of Hedonic Lifestyle on Consumptive Behavior in Economics Education Study Program Students. It is recommended that students pay more attention to their consumption and be wise in consuming.
