Abstract

This research aims to analyze the participation of the community through the development IOurism of Teluk Ge/am lake in Mu/ya Guna Village, Teluk Ge/am dislricts, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research uses the concept of community participation according to Margono Slamet. The method used in this research is qualitative research method. Descriptive qualitative research design. The location of this research is in Mu/ya Guna Village of Teluk Ge/am districts, Ogan Komering /fir Regency. Informant determination by purposive. The unit of analysis used is !he communily of people who live in the vicinity of lourism and workers in tourism objec/s. Data colleclion techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. In this research used case study. Inspection techniques and data validity used are triangulation of source and triangulation technique. Data analysis technique is the process of analysis before lo field data condensation, data presentation and examination of conclusion or verification. Briefly the results of this study is that community participation is seen from the forms and factors that influence participation. Form of community participation consists of 4 stages, namely participation in development planning, participation in the implementation of activities, participation in monitoring and evaluation of activities and participation in the utilization of development results. Factors that influence parlicipation are 3 factors: 1) Participation opportunilies: age, occupalion and income and education level; 2) Ability to participate: give ideas and donate power; and 3) Willingness to participate: self (internal) and external (external).
