Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran perempuan pada Keluarga batak Toba dan hambatan yang dialami oleh perempuan yang menjalankan peran ganda sebagai ibu rumah tangga dan petani perempuan di Desa Karing Kecamatan Berampu Kabupaten Dairi Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan menggunakan konsep teori Mary Wollstonecraft. Manfaat penelitian ini dapat memperkaya konsep dan teori yang menyokong ilmu pengetahuan sosiologi dan menambah wawasan khusunya mata kuliah pengantar sosiologi, sosiologi gender dan sosiologi keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumupalan datanya dengan melakukan observasi,wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun hasil penelitian dibawah ini bahwa perempuan yang menjalankan peran ganda memiliki alasan untuk turut serta membantu suami untuk menambah pendapatan keluarga. Selanjutnya hambatan yang dialami oleh perempuan yang menjalankan peran ganda perempuan yaitu terbatasnya waktu untuk menjaga, merawat dan mendidik anak. Tuntutan pekerjaan yang memaksa perempuan untuk mau tidak mau meniggalkan anaknya serta menggunakan jasa penitipan anak untuk menjaga anaknya selama perempuan bekerja.
