Abstract
This study aims to analyze students' computational thinking abilities in computer courses in physics learning. The type of research in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted from February to March 2023. The research subjects were 57 students taking computer courses in physics learning. The research instrument used was a computational thinking ability test of the bebras task type with five essay questions and an interview guide. The test results are used to determine students' computational thinking skills. The interview guide was used to clarify student answers and find out the factors that caused student errors in solving test questions. The results showed that (1) the ability to think computationally on the decomposition indicator was 24.21%. The ability to think on the pattern recognition indicator is 36.05%. Computational thinking ability on algorithm thinking indicators is 44.64%. And the ability to think computationally on the generalization indicator is 52.63%. For the very good category there are no percentages, the good category has 6 students with a percentage of 11%, the sufficient category has 23 students with a percentage of 40%, the unfavorable category has 13 students with a percentage of 23% and the very unfavorable category has 15 students with a percentage of 26%. . (2) Factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving problems, namely students at school did not study computational thinking, were unable to understand questions, were not thorough and were not used to solving problems.
