Abstract
The campus laboratory often faces the issue of electricity wastage, where lights and air conditioners remain on even when not in use, and the manual management of numerous devices becomes challenging. To solve these problems, this research aims to design and simulate an efficient smart system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to control and automate the lights and air conditioners in the laboratory. The study uses Cisco Packet Tracer software as a simulation tool to develop and evaluate the system design. The designed system connects the lights and air conditioners to a wireless network, allowing users to remotely control and monitor them through a remote server accessible via smartphones or computers. The research findings showcase the success of the proposed smart laboratory system in improving efficiency and optimizing the usage of lights and air conditioners. Moreover, the ability to control and monitor devices remotely provides ease and comfort for laboratory users. This research is expected to contribute to the development of IoT technology for improving energy efficiency and automation in laboratory environments.
