Abstract

The aims of this study was to determine the effect of the use of social media on the behavior of eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara. The population of this study were the 65 students of eighth graders and 37 samples were obtained by a stratified random sampling disproportionate technique. The data technique used is technique and questionnaire, while the analysis technique uses regression test. The results and discussion of data techniques used arc the list results of students names who have social media and the results of regression analysis are obtained on the ratio (R) that is 544 different variables between the variables and the coefficient of determination (R2) of. 296 which means down the independent variable (social media) to honest variable (behavior) is 29.6%. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion it was found that the use of socia l media for eighth grade studcnl5 had positive values and good application. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means that there is the effect of using social media on the behavior of eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 2 lndralaya Utara.
