Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of training on the use of citronella waste in growing a home industry among farmer groups in Benakat Oil Village, Pali Regency. This type of research is Quasi Experimental Design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used a total sampling of 40 people, divided into 2, namely control and experimental groups, each with 20 farmers. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and observations. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing. The experimental research procedure consists of 3 stages, namely pre-experiment, experiment, and post-experiment. In the pre-experimental stage, field studies and problem discovery were carried out. Then, at the experimental stage a pretest was given to the control group with an average of 48.90 and the experimental group 46.50. After that, counseling was carried out once at the learning activity site in Benakat Oil Village and training on making products three times in the form of animal feed, biogas and organic fertilizer. The final step was to give a post-test to the control group which obtained an average of 58.70 and the experimental group 90.75. Based on the results of hypothesis testing for the experimental group and the control group, the t count was 24.19 and the significance value stated to be smaller than 0.05, so it can be said that there is a significant difference between the post-test results of the control group and the experimental group. So, the use of citronella waste has shown a real influence, in the sense that it can be used as a good strategy for farmer groups in growing a home industry in Benakat Oil Village.
