Abstract
Lack of knowledge regarding reproductive health is one of the causes of increasing reproductive health infections. One of the sanitation tools during menstruation that can reduce the number of reproductive health infections is using a menstrual cup. The aim of this research is to determine the factors related to interest in using menstrual cups among students in Bangka Regency. This research is a quantitative research using a cross sectional design. Sampling used Probability Sampling with the Stratified Random Sampling technique with a total of 160 respondents aged 19- 24 years divided proportionally from UBB and IAIN SAS Babel. This research instrument uses a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariately, bivariately using the chi square statistical test, and multivariately using logistic regression analysis. From the results of the univariate analysis, it was found that less than 30% of respondents showed a high interest in using menstrual cups. The results of the bivariate analysis of this study show that there is a relationship between the variables age (p=0.001 PR=4.983 CI=1.631-15.228), social influence (p=0.000 PR= 2.862 CI=1.837-4.461), facilitating conditions (p=0.010 PR =0.210 CI=0.054-0.818), environtment attitude (p=0.000 PR=3.500 CI=2.256-5.430), value orientation (p=0.014 PR=2.254 CI=1.362-3.729), volunteeries to use (p=0.002 PR=3.091 CI=1.982-4.821), experience (p=0.000 PR=3.826 CI=2.470-5.927) on interest in using menstrual cups. Based on the results of multivariate analysis, the dominant variable influencing interest in using menstrual cups is age (PR= 5.617; 95% CI – 1.495-21.107). Therefore, education and health promotion are needed in choosing the best sanitation tools for teenagers during menstruation.
