Abstract
PT. Timah is the largest tin mining company. One of the tools used in the mineral separation cutter suction dredges is Jig Concentrator - type Pan American. The success of the tin separation will depend on several variables, including stroke length and pulse rate, overflow water, thickness and size of the bed, hutch water, the size of spigot, and jig screen. The incompatibility stroke length and pulse rate with the Standard Operating Procedure resulting the decrease of mineral grade and recovery of tin. In July 2016, the recovery was 93,19 % ffom the minimum target of 95 %. Based on the experiment, it was found that the optimal ffequency value in the field for the primary jig that compartment AB at 88 and 71 rpm, and a CD of 98 and 107 rpm with a concentrate grade of 0.26%. As for the clean-up jig, the compartment AB amounted to 148 rpm, and a CD of 164 rpm with a concentrate grade 15.23%. Optimal stroke length value in the field for the primary jig A at 37 and 35 mm, and at 30 and 32 mm, C by 25 and 26 mm, and D by 20 and 22 mm with a concentrate grade of 0.26%. As for the jig clean up, compartment A by 13 mm by 11 mm B, C by 9 mm, and D by 7 mm with a concentrate grade 15.23%.
