Abstract

This research aimed et counting the working days in the activities of cultivating IR 42 paddy between the farmers of Komering ethnic and the farmers of Java ethnic, counting the working days from the inside of the family between the farmers of Komering ethnic and those of Javanese ethnic, counting the working days of the people from the outside of the family of Komering ethnic and of Javanese ethnic, cuonting the level o f the paddy production yielded by between the farmers o f Komering ethnic and those of Javanese ethnic, and thus analyzing the relationship between the amount of the working days of the people of Komering ethnic group and those of Javanese ethnic with the IR 42 paddy being produced. The data collection was held from July until August 2005. The data were taken from the last cultivating season between December 2004 until April 2005. This research used the case study method of unbalanced random sampling on fifteen farmers of Komering (60,00% out of 25 farmers) and the fifteen farmers of Javanese (12,60% out of 119 farmers). The result of this research shows that, the avarage working days of farmers of Komering amounts to 8,22% while the farmers of Javanese amounts to 100,00%. Non parametric statistic analysis of t-student test comes to t count 2,93 while t table 1,31 meaning Ho Denial or there is a differences in the amount of working days m the cultivating activities of IR 42 paddy between the farmers of Komering and those of Javanese. The avarage working days of the people from the inside of the family of Komering ethnic amount to 11,13 while Javanese come to 29,17. Non parametric statistic analysis t-student test reaches t count result 19,502 while t table 1,31 meaning Ho Denial or there is a different in the amount of working days from the inside of the family in the cultivating activities of IR 42 paddy between the farmers of Komering and those of Javanese. The avarage working days of the people from the outside of the family of the Komering ethnic amount to 124,40 while those of Javanese’s reach 101,73. Non parametric statistic analysis t-student test meets the t count result of 14,329 while t table 1,31 meaning Ho Denial or there is a different amount of working days of the people from the outside of the family in the cultivating activities of IR 42 paddy between the farmers of Komering and those of Javanese. The avarage production of IR 42 yielded by the farmers of Komering ethnic reaches 6,14 ton/ha while the Javanese 6,84 ton/ha, t-student test meets t count 2,681 while table t 1,31 meaning Ho Denial or there is a different in paddy production yielded between the farmers of Komering and those of Javanese. The avarage production of the farmers of both ethnic groups of IR 42 paddy reaches 6,42 ton/ha, after being tested by Spearman leveled test,the writer found the result of rs count 0,230 while table rs 0,306 meaning Ho acceptance or there is no connection between days with the paddy production resulted.
