Abstract
Nilavarpata lugens (Homoptera: Delphacidae) is a pest that can reduce the productivity of rice crops. One of the biological control techniques that can be used to control pest populations is by using entomopathogenic fungi. M. anisopliae is an entomopathogenic fungus widely used to control pests from many orders. This study aimed to determine the potential of M. anisopliae to suppress the intensity of damage to rice plants caused by Nilavarpata lugens with concentrations of 5 x 105. This research was conducted in Entomology laboratory, Department of Pest and Disease Plant, Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University since September 2017 - March 2018. This study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) using 22 treatments and 3 replications for insect pests. The workings of this study are preparation of test insects, Culturing of isolate M. anisopliae, insect quality test and virulence test of isolate M. anisopliae against 25 insects Nilavarpata lugens topically. The results showed that from the observations, the percentage of mortality in the treatment of the highest isolates of Metharizium anisopliae was 100% are Mws Pantura and MtmRR b and the lowest (MtmDtTpL a) of 65.3%. The next isolate code that has reached the fastest 50 LT is MtmDtTpL c which is at 122.646 hours (day 5). Then for the longest isolate code in isolate MtmDtTpL 2.2, ie at 221.48667 (day 9). That is, the code of Mws Pantura isolate is the best among the other 20 isolates
