Abstract
The research objective was to evaluate the growth and result capacity of 108 strain from recurrent selection for nutrient efficiency in marginal land. The research conducted from July to December 2008 at Agro Techno Park (ATP), Bakung village, indralaya, Ogan Ilir South Sumatera. Experimental design used was Randomized Complete Block Design with five replications and 108 strain as treatment was used in the experiment. The 108 selection strain were grouped into six population : Toray, Bayu, Lamuru, Bisma, was srikandi Kuning and Sukmaraga. The result showed that generally was high variety in all of growth characters and yield component that was observated between 108 strain except for clorofil content and 100 kemel weight, there were on ears weight as yield indicator 108 strain could be classified into 3 group. They were the group which has high yield > 178 g with 16 strain that on S232, B41, K74, B88, SI 11, L34, L180, B91, K71, K04, L197, SI, S212, T122, Y21 and Y16, the group which has medium yield between 141-177 g that on 75 strain and the group which has low yield < 140 g that on 17 strain. The large of ears lef, ears size, total kemel ears have relation with the high yield.
