Abstract

This research discusses the factors that influence labor absorption in the MSME sector in Indonesia 2018-2022. The data used is secondary data obtained through the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises. The analysis technique used is panel data regression with Random Effect Model (REM). The research results show that the variables that significantly influence labor absorption in the MSME sector in Indonesia are GRDP and the number of MSME business units. The GRDP variables and the number of business units have a positive effect on labor absorption in the MSME sector in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the variable average length of schooling has a negative and insignificant influence on employment in the MSME sector in Indonesia, and the ICT Development Index variable has a positive and insignificant influence on employment in the MSME sector in Indonesia.
