Abstract

The city of Jambi has made progress in the aspect of artistic activities, which can be seen from the regular activities held by artists in the city every year. However, the facilities of the art buildings in Jambi are still considered inadequate to support artistic activities, especially those carried out by artists. A facility is needed to support these activities to potentially develop them for the better. Not only that, the existing art buildings in Jambi still lack the character of the art itself, especially since Jambi is still lagging behind in marketing the city's image compared to other major cities. With the establishment of this art center, it is hoped that it can create the symbolic character of art buildings as a new face of Jambi city. An iconic design approach is chosen in the design to make the building have an attractive visual image. To realize this, it is implemented through site and architectural aspects according to the characteristics required by the iconic design approach.
