Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of playing giant snakes and ladders on the beginning numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Kartika II-1 Palembang. The research method used in this research is pre-experimental quantitative research with a one shot case study design. The sampling in this study was purposive sampling with a comparison of children who had different abilities in starting arithmetic, totaling 15 children in class B3. The data collection technique used was through observation with the help of a checklist sheet and action tests through the game of giant snakes and ladders. The data analysis technique uses the t-test with the requirement to carry out a data normality test. The results of the data analysis that have been carried out show a tcount of 3.4 and a ttable. of 2.1. seen from the distribution table t α = 0.05 and the degree of freedom (dk) n-1 is 14. This means that the value of tcount ≥ ttable.. So based on the results of the decision it is stated that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the giant snakes and ladders game on the initial numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Kartika II-1 Palembang.
