Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of matching board media on the memory ability of children aged 5-6 years at Dahlia IB 2 Palembang Kindergarten. The research methodology used in this research is experimental, using a oneshot case study design. Furthermore, the technique used in sampling was a purposive sampling technique with a population of all class B children consisting of 15 children. There are 10 indicators that are measured, including explaining the types of fruit, counting forward the numbers 1-10, counting backwards the numbers 10-1, saying the names of the designated fruit, arranging the appropriate fruit pictures, remembering the types of fruit on the matching board, remembering the same picture, remembering numbers 1-10, Reciting the names of the fruit he remembers, the corresponding picture of the fruit occurs again. The data collection technique involves the use of a structured observation sheet presented in the form of a checklist and action testing through a matching board. The data analysis technique uses the T-test with the requirement to carry out a data normality test. The results of data analysis show that the tcount = 4.25, and the ttable = 1.76. Judging from the distribution table t α = 0.05 and the degree of freedom (dk) n-1 is 14. Thus tcount > ttable then H0 is rejected, Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the influence of matching board media on the memory ability of children aged 5-6 years is found in TK Dahlia IB 2 Palembang.
