Abstract

Traffic accidents can happen to anyone and anywhere, including online motorcycle taxi drivers and also on campus. Therefore, it is important to always implement safe riding behavior when driving. This study aims to analyze antecedent factors that influence traffic accidents based on safety riding behavior in online motorcycle taxi drivers at Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This research is a quantitative type of research using a cross sectional design with a sample size of 105 online motorcycle taxi drivers. Data analysis techniques were carried out univariate, bivariate and multivariate. Data analysis used the chi square test and multiple logistic regression test. Antecedent factors causing traffic accidents from the chi square test results show that management factors (p=0.003) and human factors (p=0.001) have a significant relationship with safety riding behavior in online motorcycle taxi drivers. From the results of the multiple logistic test, the most dominant variable was obtained, namely the human factor variable (p=0.002; PR=3.963). The suggestion in this research is that online motorcycle taxi drivers should always prioritize safety when driving by always implementing good safety riding behavior. The university is also expected to be able to repair and improve infrastructure that supports traffic safety in the campus environment, and the online motorcycle taxi company is expected to be able to socialize the safety riding behavior of online motorcycle taxi drivers.
