Abstract

The object of this research was to determine the types of parasitic nematodes that attack banana’s root, the amount of populations nematode in 100 g root, the percentage of attacks, and the spread pattem of nematodes in Palembang and Indralaya. This research started from December 2014 until February 2015 using field survey method. The parameter used in this research was the species of nematodes, the amount of populations nematode in 100 g root, the percentage of roots necrosis cause by nematode attack, and the spread pattem of nematodes in Palembang and Indralaya. The results showed that the species of nematodes which attack the roots of banana in Palembang and Indralaya is Radopholus similis. The amount of populations nematode in 100 g root and the percentage of roots necrosis in Palembang and Indralaya was not significantly different. The spread pattem showed that the distribution of R. similis follow the distribution of bananas.
