Abstract

Research on the utilization of a combination of bay leaf extracts and basil leaves has been carried out to determine its effectiveness as a fruit fly control (Bactrocera sp.) in the FKIP UNSRI Education garden. The research method used is experimental method with the research design is Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of four treatments and six repetitions. Using a combination of bay and basil extract concentrations, namely 65% + 35%, 55% + 45%, 45% + 55% and 35% + 65%. Data analysis used is one away anova and continued with games howell test. Based on the results of the study, the combination of bay leaf and basil leaf extracts can be used as fruit fly control. Howell's games test showed an effective concentration or significantly different from the control of fruit flies P4 concentration (35% + 65%), which is a concentration combined with high basil extract. The time of setting the trap at 10:00-12:00 was the highest number of catches. Then, from the fruit flies that were trapped during the research in the FKIP UNSRI Education park, two types were fruit flies (Bactrocera dorsalis) and fruit flies (Bactrocera caryeae). Information on the results of this study is expected to be an input material in learning biology in SMA phase E (class X semester I), on biodiversity material, in the world of plants (spermathophyta) and its role for everyday life.
