Abstract
Nile tilapia is cultured fish that able to adapt to environmental conditions. One of the key factors that limiting growth and survival in the fish culture system is feed mainly natural fish feed. The avaibility of natural feed can be supported through fertilization. Kepok banana peel is waste that can be used as materials for liquid organic fertilizer. This study aimed to determine the effect of applying liquid organic fertilizer from kepok banana peel waste on the growth and survival of tilapia. This study used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which included four levels of treatment and three replications. The treatment used was as follows: without the addition of liquid organic fertilizer kepok banana peel (P0), liquid organic fertilizer kepok banana peel 1 μl L-1 day-1 (P1), 2 μl L-1 day-1 (P2) and 3 μl L-1 day-1 (P3). The results showed that the best dose of liquid organic fertilizer kepok banana peel 3 μl L-1 day-1 (P3) that has survival rate 96.67%, absolute growth of weight 2.34 g, absolute growth of length 1.28 cm and feed efficiency 138,78%. The water quality during the study was temperature 26.00 – 30.20°C, pH 6.84 to 7.81 and dissolved oxygen 5.36 to 6.51 mg L-1.
