Abstract
The objective of this study was to know the effect phytase enzyme used on patin siam fish (Pangasius hipophthalmus) feed for water quality and survival rate. This research has been held from October to December 2008 at aquaculture laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This current experiment used completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments of phytase enzyme concentration were P0 (0 mg/lOOg), Pj (40 mg/lOOg), P2 (50 mg/lOOg), P3 (60 mg/lOOg) and P4 (0 mg/lOOg). Patin siam fish fingerlings size 6,5-7,5 cm with weight 3,5-4,5 g were used in this experiment. The patin siam fish fingerlings have been cultured in 50 x 40 x 35 cm aquarium for 30 days. Water quality parameters observed were orthophosphate (PO4), ammonia (NH3), nitrate (N03“), nitrite (N02-), dissolved oxygen (DO) and pH. The result of least significant difference analysis showed that addition of Phytase enzyme to fish food formulation give a significant influences to orthophosphate, survival rate, growth, fosfor digested and protein digested. The best survival rate was reached to P4 treatment (97,78%).
