Abstract

The aims of tliis research were to determine the percentage of clam meal can substitute fish meal in feed formulation is seen from the total value and protein digestibility of feed, growth and feed efficiency. This research was conducted on July-September 2013 in the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Aquaculture Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Cr203 and proximate analysis test conducted in Bioprocess Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, University of Sriwijaya. Research methods using Completely Randomized Design with five treatments and three replications, namely A treatment (percentage clam meal : fish meal = 0:100) and treatment B (percentage clam meal : fish meal = 25:75), treatment C (percentage clam meal : fish meal = 50:50), treatment D (percentage clam meal : fish meal = 75:25), and treatment E (percentage clam meal : fish meal = 100:0). Digestibility experiments using five treatments without repetition. Each aquarium filled 20 catfishes. That is observed perameter feed digestibility, growth, feed efficiency, survival, and quality of water. Results showed treatment B (percentage clam meal : fish meal = 25:75) access yielded a total value and protein digestibility of feed highest 89.51% and 93.23%. Parameters such as growth and feed efficiency in treatment B that is 2.07 grams and 85.72%. Whiie the survival parameters were not significantly different in each treatment. Water quality was on the normal rate measured in this study are within normal limits for maintenance catfish. I
