Abstract

The nutritional problem of school-aged children in Indonesia is currently a dual nutritional problem, namely undernutrition and overnutrition. Lack of knowledge and attitudes can cause nutritional problems that affect nutritional status. Providing nutrition education through the Gizi Go Board Game and Posters is an effort to increase school children's knowledge and attitudes about the contents of my plate. This research aims to determine the effect of using educational media on increasing elementary school students' knowledge and attitudes about the contents of my plate at SD Negeri 41 and SD Negeri 24 Palembang. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design using a pre-test post-test with control group design. The sampling technique used in this research is Random Sampling. The subjects in this study were 60 5th grade elementary school students consisting of 30 experimental group students and 30 control group students. The results of the Wilcoxon Rank Test statistical test in the experimental and control groups showed p-value = <0,001 on knowledge and attitudes, which means that there was an influence before and after providing nutrition education through the Gizi Go Board Game and Poster media. The statistical test results of the Mann Whitney U test on knowledge obtained a value of p=<0,001 and on attitudes a value of p=0.001 was obtained, which means that there was a significant difference in knowledge and attitudes regarding the contents of my plate in the experimental group using the Board Game Gizi Go media and the control group using Poster media. It is hoped that the results of this research will be able to provide information to students so they can apply the guidelines for eating the contents of my plate in their daily lives.
