Abstract

Background: Stunting is a serious global health problem that can have long-term impacts, occuring due to a lack of nutritional intake during the first 1.000 days of life. Maternal knowledge about nutrition and health is a key factor in preventing stunting. Appropriate education, especially through video media, can increase families understanding of stunting and its prevention. Aim: To provide family nursing care using video media about stunting prevention to increase the knowledge of mothers with children under five. Method: This research method is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Results: There were 4 main problems found in managed families and the main nursing problem was a knowledge deficit about stunting prevention. The three mothers of toddlers were given education using stunting prevention video media. The results obtained were that the three mothers of toddlers stated that they understood and knew about stunting prevention. Discussion: Knowledge deficit related to the family's inability to recognize health problems in preventing stunting in toddlers is the main nursing diagnosis that can be established in the three cases of managed families. The three mothers of toddlers were given the same intervention, namely stunting prevention education using video media. After being given education, the three mothers were able to apply the things they had been taught through stunting prevention videos. Conclusion: Education using video media can increase mothers' knowledge about preventing stunting in toddlers. Keywords: Health Education, Stunting, Video Media References: 46(2014-2024)
