Abstract

Students are part of the driving force of a nation, being a student is quite a big responsibility. Currently, students are faced with many demands that must be resolved, one of which is regarding academics. The thing that encourages students to achieve academic success is self-awareness. Self-awareness within the individual can support students to realize what they should do and carry out every existing responsibility, such as attending lectures well and regularly. This research aims to determine the level of self-awareness in academic among Guidance and Counseling students at Sriwijaya University. The method in this research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The data collection technique uses a Likert scale, the formula used is the percentage formula (%) and the data is processed with the help of the Microsoft Excel application. The population in this study was 277 respondents consisting of Guidance and Counseling students at Sriwijaya University class of 2021, 2022 and 2023. Sampling used a proportional stratified random sampling technique with a total of 164 respondents. The results of this research show that the level of self-awareness possessed by students is in the medium category. In conclusion, although the level of student self-awareness tends to be in the medium category, there are still students whose self-awareness is in the low category, which requires attention so that these students' self-awareness increases, which will later be beneficial for the students themselves.
