Abstract

Adolescents are one of the individuals that vulnerable to cardiovascular disorders. This is related to changes in the lifestyle of adolescents today, such as lack of physical activity. Cardiovascular disorders can be detected by hemodynamic monitoring which is closely related to body circulation. Physical activities such as Tera gymnastics can be an option in an effort to improve heart health to prevent cardiovascular disorders. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of Tera gymnastics on hemodynamic parameters in adolescents. The type of this research is Quasy Experimental without control with One Group pre-post test design. The sample in this study were students of SMP IT Zain Al-Mutaqqin Palembang. Sampling was done using total sampling technique. Hypothesis testing using paired t-test and wilcoxon test. There was an increase in the mean results of systolic blood pressure measurements (pre 119.86±10.24–post 122.62±7.96; P=0.038), diastolic blood pressure (pre 72.40±8.58–post 78.50±7.44; P=<0.001), and mean arterial pressure (pre 88.22±8.1–post 93.20±5.64; P=<0.001). There was a decrease in oxygen saturation (pre 98.56± 0.83–post 98.02± 1.09; P= 0.006). In pulse rate, no significant results were obtained. Tera gymnastics plays a significant role in increasing hemodynamic parameters in the form of systolic, diastolic, mean arterial pressure, and decreasing oxygen saturation.
