Abstract
The purpose of this research was to utilize water hyacinth biomass and sneakhead waste as substrats for biogas production as a renewable energy source by different treatment on substrate composition. The research was conducted on January 2015 to February 2015 by using descriptive method. The parameters observed were analyzing rate and accumulation of biogas production and methane, as well as the parameters of the slurry include temperature, pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Solids, Volatile Solids, and C/N ratio. The results showed differences in substrate composition slurry in the reactor A with composition of 1:2 (20% of water hyacinth and 40% of snakehead fish viscera waste) provided in accumulation of biogas and methane highest from reactor B with the composition of the substrate 2:1 (40% of water hyacinth and 20% of snakehead fish viscera waste). Biogas results obtained compositionof 1:2 (20% of water hyacinth and 40% of snakehead fish viscera waste) as much 1.656 ml potentially as alternative energy.
