Abstract

Rice consumption is an activity of using rice as a staple food by individuals or households to meet the daily nutritional and energy needs of the majority of Indonesia people, one of which is Indralaya Indah Village. This study aims to: (1) Calculate the average amount of household rice consumption in Indralaya Indah Village, Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency; (2) Comparing household rice consumption expenditure with other household staple food expenditures in Indralaya Indah Village, Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency: (3) Analyzing factors affecting household rice consumption in Indralaya Indah Village, Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency. This study uses a survey method. This research was conducted in August to September 2024 with a sample of 43 households in Indralaya Indah Village. The data were processed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study show that: (1) The average amount of household rice consumption in Indralaya Indah Village reached 26.25 kg with an expenditure value of Rp411,398.19 per month with details of 37 households that consumed premium rice spent an average of 13.42 kg per month, which accounted for 86.05% of total consumption. Meanwhile, 6 households that consume medium rice spend an average of 12.83 kg per month, accounting for 13.95% of total consumption; (2) Expenditure on the consumption of rice and other staple foods (noodles, cassava, and flour) in this output reached Rp10,929,000 with an average expenditure of Rp254,162.78 per household; (3) Based on the tests carried out, among the variables of income, age of the head of the family, number of family members, total noodle expenditure, total cassava expenditure, total wheat expenditure, type of occupation, education level, and taste that have a significant effect on the amount of rice consumption only four variables, the number of family members, total noodle expenditure, total cassava expenditure, and total wheat expenditure the significance value in the t test is found to be less than α (0,05).
