Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-Module using the Book Creator application for narrative text writing material for 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 26 Palembang. The development follows the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), with a focus on the Analysis, Design, and Development stages. Data were collected using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative data, obtained through questionnaires, revealed that out of 15 statements, students responded as follows: Very Needed (57%), Needed (30%), Fairly Needed (8%), Not Needed (5%), and Very Not Needed (0%), indicating a high demand for an E-Module to support narrative text learning. The qualitative data were collected through interviews with an Indonesian language teacher and two 7th-grade students, which provided insights into the needs and preferences of the target users. In the design phase, lesson plans (RPP), flowcharts, and storyboards were created based on the formulated learning objectives. The E-Module was designed with interactive features such as text, images, videos, and audio, aligned with the curriculum and tailored to the needs of students. In the development phase, the E- Module was validated by experts in material, language, and media/graphics. The validation results showed excellent quality in all areas: the material aspect achieved a score of 59 (90.76%), demonstrating alignment with learning objectives; the language aspect scored 53 (88.33%), reflecting the clear and appropriate use of language, with minor areas that still need improvement; and the media aspect scored 44 (80%), indicating systematic design and visually appealing elements. Overall, the E-Module was deemed highly valid and suitable for use as a teaching resource. This study recommends that the E-Module be subjected to beta testing involving students to assess its effectiveness and practicality. It also suggests that further trials be conducted across multiple classes to obtain more representative data. Therefore, this E-Module is expected to serve as an effective, interactive, and innovative learning tool for narrative text writing instruction in 7th-grade classrooms, offering a valuable alternative to traditional teaching methods.
