Abstract
As family educators, parents must understand the aspects of cognitive development in order to provide optimal support for their children and identify any delays in their cognitive development. However, in Nagari Sungai Buluah, most parents still lack a comprehensive understanding of early childhood cognitive development due to a lack of literacy. Therefore, this development research was conducted to produce a pocketbook as a learning medium for parents to understand the appropriate cognitive development stimulation based on their children's age. This development research used the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Two types of data were used to determine whether the pocketbook could be used as a learning resource, namely validation data from experts and trial data from parents. The results of the validation assessment conducted by three experts obtained a percentage of 83.33% for media validity, categorized as very valid, 85% for material validity, categorized as very valid, and 75% for language validity, categorized as valid. Furthermore, the assessment of practicality conducted by parents obtained a rating of 100%, categorized as very practical in the one-to-one trial, and in the small group trial, a rating of 100% was obtained, categorized as very practical. Therefore, based on the results of the validation and trial conducted in a small group, the cognitive development stimulation pocketbook can be used as a learning resource for parents.
