Abstract
This study aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective instructional media android-based diesel motor technology. The research type is research and development model of product development Rowntree. The object of this research was the instructional media android based diesel motor technology and the research subjects were students of mechanical engineering education study program of FKIP UNSRI. This media development carried out three phases: planning, stage of development, and evaluation phase. Experts’ validation, questionnaire, and tests were used for collecting the data. Experts’ validation was used to determine the validity of the products; the questionnaire was used to determine the practicality of the product; and tests were used to determine the effectiveness of the product. The results of the experts’ validation were 86% for material validation (content) and 79% for validation media. The products had been validated in trials to stage one to one evaluation, and then the product was revised based on comments and suggestions from the validator and the students. Furthermore, to determine the practicality of the products, a small group stage was conducted and practicality questionnaire percentage value obtained was 83%. To determine the effectiveness of the product, a field test phase was conducted and it show that 78% of students achieved the expected value. It can be concluded that the instructional media technology diesel motors is valid, practical, and effective to use in learning.
