Abstract
The human body that is exposed to excess free radicals in a prolonged period can cause oxidative stress and various diseases so antioxidant compounds are needed to counteract free radicals. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the strongest antioxidant activity of ciplukan leaves, guava leaves, katuk leaves and cat whisker leaves that have been used empirically by the people of Ogan Ilir and the resulting combination effect of the four extract samples. Extraction was done by maceration method using methanol solvent. Antioxidant activity test with DPPH method on ciplukan leaf extract, guava leaf, katuk leaf and cat whisker leaf obtained the best IC50 value on katuk leaf 29.36 µg/mL with total flavonoid content and total phenolic content of 119.84 mg QE/g sample and 343.39 mg GAE/g sample. The activity test of the combination of extracts with the DPPH method obtained the best inhibition percentage in the combination of ciplukan leaf and guava leaf extracts of 94.36%. this shows that the combination of ciplukan leaf and guava leaf is better than its single extract with strong antioxidant activity potential against free radicals.
