Abstract

Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr) is one of the plantation plants that has high potential to be cultivated and become a habitat for various types of arthropods. Planting refugia flowers in aren palm plantations can attract insects to make it a microhabitat such as wild pettunian flowers. The use of wild pettunian (Ruellia tuberosa L) refugia flowers in sugar palm plantations aims to increase arthropod diversity, especially positive arthropods such as pollinators and natural enemies. This research was conducted in sugar palm plantation of Ulak Segelung Village, South Sumatra. The method used in this research was purpossive random sampling using 7 plots where each plot consists of 5 plants. The data that has been obtained was processed using excel and NCSS software. The Shannon-Weiner Diversity Index (H') obtained was 1.53 which was included in the medium category. The evenness index (E) obtained was 0.64 which categorized into the high category. The Dominance Index (D) obtained was 0.32 which categorized into the low category. From the results of the analysis using NCSS software that has been done, obtained P-Value <0.01 for the relationship between arthropods and observation week, arthropods and traps and arthropods and lightrap which means there was a real influence. While for the relationship between arthropods and plants and arthropods and days of observation showed no significant effect with a P-Value >0.01.
