Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of distance, differences in per capita income between destination and origin countries, remittance levels, and wage levels of destination countries on the level of international migration of Indonesian workers. This study uses secondary data obtained from the official websites of Bank Indonesia, World Bank, and Trading Economics for the period 2013-2023, the analysis method used is panel data regression with the Random Effect model and the scope of the study covers 9 Asian countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Macau, Qatar, and Jordan. The results of the study show that the distance between regions, per capita income of origin countries, per capita income of destination countries, remittance levels and wage levels affect the international migration of Indonesian workers. Partially, distance and per capita income of origin countries have a negative and significant effect, remittance levels and per capita income of destination countries have a positive and significant effect, but different findings in the study are that wages of destination countries have a negative and significant effect on international migration of Indonesian workers
