Abstract

Ultisol is a soil that has soil characteristic constraints that can inhibit plant growth and low P nutrient content, and low organic matter content. This study aims to analyze the effect of liquid fertilizer from bamboo rhizosphere and compost-biochar on the availability of P nutrients and the growth and production of caisim (Brassica juncea L.) plants on Ultisol. This research was conducted in the plastic house of the Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya from September to December 2024. The study was conducted using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors: the dose of liquid fertilizer bamboo rhizosphere (0, 60, 120, and 180 ml plant-1) and the dose of compost-biochar (0, 10, and 20 tons ha-1). The results showed that the treatment of liquid fertilizer bamboo rhizosphere and compost-biochar had a significant effect on soil pH, organic C, available P and the growth and production of caisim plants. In addition, there is a significant interaction on the content of Available P and the length of caisim leaves. The combination of bamboo rhizosphere liquid fertilizer treatment with a dose of 180 ml plant-1 and compost-biochar with a dose of 20 tons ha-1 gives the best effect in increasing soil pH, organic C, available P and the growth and production of caisim plants.
