Abstract

In this research will try to combine Case Based Reasoning method with Naïve Bayes method to determine the major for the 3rd grade high school students. Case Based Reasoning / CBR is the method to solve the problem by considering the kinds of event that have occurred in the past, then use the knowledge / information to solve new problems. Naïve Bayes is a classification method, where the process of classification using probability and statistic method. CBR will be used to describe the subject based on the personality of candidate of student. Personality of candidate of student will be assessed based on the Holland code, for the value of similarity used Nearest Neighbour similarity. CBR will produce some options of the major which has the highest percentage according to the personality of candidate of student. Then, that option of the major will be classified using Naïve Bayes method, where Naïve Bayes method will search the highest probability value of the options which generated by CBR.
