Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Karya Mulya Literacy Village program in Palembang City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques use observation, interview, and documentation methods. The subjects of this study were 5 people consisting of 1 manager, 1 tutor, and 3 students. The results of this study indicate that the planning aspect has been carried out in accordance with the needs of the community through survey and discussion results, activity targets for students, preparing activity schedules, budgets and utilizing existing resources, and also cooperation plans that support the provision of books and teaching aids. In terms of implementation, there are sufficient facilities, students who attend regularly, and the methods used are in accordance with literacy activities that have been carried out consistently. In terms of evaluation, it has also been quite good with ongoing evaluation. In terms of supporting factors, there is family support so that students are enthusiastic about coming to the reading corner. The inhibiting factors are influenced by students' feelings of inferiority when reading in public, limited time that interferes with the concentration of students, lack of volunteers who want to contribute, and lack of training activities for tutors.
